When you can ask for help from a GM and when you should be helping yourself can be one of the trickier parts of Wurm Online.

So, one of our GMs, Enki, who spends much of his time working on the Golden Valley server has put together this list of common questions with useful answers. Before you try getting hold of a GM, you should read these - they may have the answer you need. If you do need to contact a GM, use the command /dev in your chat window, and fill in the form. They will contact you as soon as they can.

It is worth noting that on the premium servers, you may need to be a little more self reliant - especially on Wild!

Q. How do I get out of a locked or fenced mine?

A. Attempt to contact the owner and ask them to free you. If you cannot reach the owner contact a Game Moderator using the /Dev command and you may be freed after a quick evaluation of the situation to ensure no illicit activity has taken place. You may need to be patient if there is not GM available immediately.

Q. I am trapped in a fenced area. How can I get out?

A. Attempt to contact the owner and ask them to free you. If you cannot reach the owner contact a Game Moderator using the /Dev command and you may be freed after a quick evaluation of the situation to ensure no illicit activity has taken place.

Q. I am being attacked by a player and did not accept a duel request what should I do?

A. Get to safety, take a screenshot of the event, keep your logs handy, and contact a Game Moderator using /Dev

Q. What do I do if a player is dragging dangerous animals to me?

A. Contact a Game Moderator using /Dev

Q. How do I know where each portal leads?

A. Each portal is different and upon use you will be presented with a confirmation screen describing where the portal leads. You may choose to take the portal or remain on Golden Valley. Make sure you read the screen carefully as we cannot help you if you end up in the wrong place!

Q. My friends are in another kingdom, can I communicate with them via private messages.

A. No. The only contact you can have between kingdoms is in local chat.

Q. My friends joined a different kingdom, can I be converted to their kingdom?

A. Yes. Conversion is handled by players or portals. To convert to another kingdom find a member of that kingdom, type /invitations in the chat text entry bar, and ask the player to convert you to their kingdom. Remember you only get 3 conversions. Portals currently do not count against your available conversions when you use one to transfer to the premium servers.

Q, I have done a /dev, filled in the form but no one has answered. What do I do?

A. Be patient. All the GMs are volunteers and sometime they get snowed under with requests. Your message will have been logged and a GM will get back to you as soon as they can.

Things GMs Don't Do

This is a list of common questions we get asked that we cannot help you with. All these are part of the game and you will need to overcome these by yourself. Please do not request any of the following as it can delay us getting to someone with a valid request.

Q. I got separated from my friends, can I get a teleport to rejoin them?

A. No.

Q. I died, can I be teleported to my corpse?

A. No.

Q. I lost my corpse, can a Game Moderator get it for me?

A. No.

Q. Can I get a structure or fences removed so that I can redesign my place?

A. No.

Q. A player has not been seen online for a long time, can a Game Moderator remove the house and fences so that I can use the space?

A. No.

Q. I don't like my name, can I change it?

A. No. The only way to change your character name is by creating a new character. You may be asked to do this if your character has an unsuitable name.
