About The Horde of the Summoned

Another of Wurm’s older Kingdoms, The Horde of the Summoned (HoTS) is not for those looking for an easy ride. In contrast to the civilised kingdoms of Jenn-Kellon and Mol-Rehan, HoTS is historically brutal, dark and above all without mercy. HoTS was once much larger than it currently is, and in many ways dominated the battlefield with many past legendary warriors following the example set by the unrelenting Libila, the evil goddess. After the arrival of Mol-Rehan, HoTS substantially declined in its influence due to desertion, and at one point was reduced almost to complete defeat. As a result, HoTS has the lowest population, and is not always able to compete with Mol-Rehan and Jenn-Kellon in terms of equipment quality. HoTS should not, however, be underestimated. Their will is that of iron, and they are capable of launching rapid attacks on small, unsuspecting villages, sometimes with assistance from Mol-Rehan. Horde of the Summoned has little to lose, but everything to gain.

Religion: The evil goddess Libila. They have complete control over the Bone Altar.

Special Info: As the ‘black light’ kingdom, citizens of Horde of the Summoned are able to become priests and champions of Libila, and use the spells provided by Libila. Due to Libila’s barbaric nature, her presence spreads mycelium and infection to trees, which can be absorbed by her followers both to provide food and to heal wounds. Priests of Libila are also able to raise zombies from corpses, which can be used as formidable pets, and allows Horde of the Summoned the unique ability to ride (zombie) huge spiders as mounts. Horde of the Summoned can also practice cannibalism, and are able to butcher human corpses and consume human meat.

Mol Rehan Revenged for Ebony Veil PDF Print E-mail

The dead displayed at Ebony VeilEbony Veil, Morning. The warriors of Mol Rehan have continued their campaign of harassment against Libila's chosen, attacking this strategic town of the Horde of the Summoned for the last few days. There seems little let up in their Holy War.

Right outside the walls of Ebony Veil they waged a naval battle with three of Libila's warriors until they were chased off by the valiant defenders. Over the air they flung accusations that the damned ones were using majicks of the most despicable kind when one of theirs fell to the strong, cursed blades of the Horde.

This was not the end of the battle however, and this act of mercy upon the soul of the heathen known as ZarmaZarmaex to his comrades by Libila’s chosen soon triggered reprisals upon the faithful.

Mol Rehan returned with a greater force; their ranks swollen by enlisting simple townspeople to bolster their numbers as they took their vengeance for the death. Two more of Libila's towers crumbled to the Mol Rehan weapons, despite the heroic efforts of two villagers to halt the destruction by the hands of these infidels. The strange and insulting speech filled the air, mixed with words that made no sense whatsoever, but were shouted in the heat of revenge.

Naval Battle for Hell's Kitchen PDF Print E-mail

Naval battle courtesy MekajonnaThe date of this battle evades me. As followers of Libila, time seems to have less meaning the more it moves forward. I was on shore when I got word of a White Light raid force near Hell's Kitchen and made haste to see it for my own eyes. Upon arrival it was quickly determined that we were indeed under attack by a sizable force. There were 2 others in the village at the time; it was up to us to keep the attackers at bay.

Moments passed. It became hectic at times trying to determine which walls were under assault with few defenders and many walls, but we did prevail as the invaders appeared to run out of ammunition for their catapults. After some exchanged words, the Wilights scraped their brushes against our walls, perhaps as a taunt in frustration, and began to sail away.

Then our backup arrived. Some of the fiercest fighters in the Land of the Plague sailed in and cut off the Wilight retreat!... and so the naval battle began. Some of those defending inside the village decided to reciprocate some animosity towards the attackers and join the fight as well.

It was a true sight to behold. There were two boats under Her flag, and somewhere around six sailboats of a smaller variety, as well as a large Cog full of the Wilights. The battle raged for quite some time, the two Black Light boats would dart in and around making precise strikes at determined targets. They were clearly displeased with this insult to Her.

At times, I found myself simply lowering my bow and watching this beautiful display of combat. However, the battle would not last forever. The fastidious attacks from Her followers eventually took their toll on the Wilighters, sending two of them into Her hands. The wind shifted and the invaders decided it would be best to make use of it before more casualties ensued.

The fighters for Her sailed by; cuts and gashes on their body, dents and chips in their weapons and armour. But they had broad smiles on their faces: these were those who loved battle. We gave them a salute and sent them on their way back to the front lines. For now, the battle was over.

This is the story of a Mol rehan woman who was to be wed with her love from Jenn Kelon. However when the war pressed towards their lands she did not wish to fight with him and so she fled to try to settle away from the conflict, and her fate fell into other hands. But, as is the way with such things,  she would meet her love again and his life would be in her hands.

By Leve 'Dara

I drift along the shore
Hearing of the war
These things are not to be
For I have many dreams.

A peaceful little place
Much to my disgrace,
I hide away from you
And hope for something new.

Now darkened skies do come
And I know that I can't run,
She is coming here
She is what I fear.

Tales of the Artifacts PDF Print E-mail

A collection of stories written by Miggy

Wurm is, sometimes, a place of legends. Most lands are if you dig deep enough. Generally you never notice. You pick up your hatchet in the morning and you brave the forests to fetch wood for your oven; where the forest came from, who has walked on those hills before, is probably far from your mind. But occasionally, someone will take the trouble to put down in words their version of history, their take on the many legends that hover just beneath the skin of society.

Miggy has taken up his pen, however, and tells us tales of the artifacts, and the legends that surround them. Revisit often as he adds to this collection!
