itunes_icon1-smallWurm music is now worldwide on iTunes!

Our sound artist Joss told me he got some of the Wurm songs published on iTunes as part of his new record "Oohs, Ahhs and Nice Guitars".

Joss told me 'there are three Wurm songs on there: "Johnny" which is about griefing by chopping trees, "Little Miss Jane" which tells of spiders attacking a farm and a self-proclaimed hero getting cooked by lava and "Travelling", about a trader travelling round Wurm and always just staying out of trouble, "all those little crocs snapping at my heels..."'

You find it by clicking Here (you will need iTunes installed, obviously!)

Go get!

PC Gamer loves us - again!Wurm Online has been featured as one of the must play MMOs in the April Edition of the US PC Gamer Magazine. In an article that reports on the state of the top eleven MMOs, Wurm Online is reckoned against titles like Eve, Aion, Everquest, Fallen Earth and other top names.

"Leave Your Mark," the title says on page 67. It warns the reader that "if you are the kind of gamer that needs constant instruction or a constant stream of side quests to keep you moving, this game is not your friend - it's your vicious new arch-nemesis." All of us involved with the game, from player to developer, moderator to musician know the truth in this - Wurm is a not a game for the feint of heart, but neither is it a game limited to hard core gamers - it is for people who are not afraid of rolling up their sleeves and getting dirty while enjoying the best community on the net - whether they have ever played an online game before or not!

"What is the endgame? Colborate or go solo. Found a city and rasie an army. Become a nomad hunber, or just make fish stew and juice for a living." Who needs an end game when you are wrapped so tightly in a world that isn't going to end?

So, to all those who have come looking for us having read the magazine, welcome! Come on in, pull up a log, sit down and chat to the people around you. It can be a hard life in Wurm, but an incredibly satisfying one, and at all levels from beginner to old die-hards like BaldEAgleOG featured below. Stay a while, roll your sleeves up and get digging - trust me, you will love it (the PC Gamer crew certainly do!)

21st Century BluesI am very happy to announce that our sound engineer and web master Joss Sanglier have just had a new version of his album "Oohs, Ahhs and Nice Guitars" published on Spotify under the name 21st Century Blues. This version of the album includes three of the tracks he has written for Wurm Online - Johnny, Little Miss Jane and Travelling.

Joss says that "The lyrics are going to confuse the hell out of anyone who does not know what Wurm is! At the moment there is no overview of the Album, which I am trying to rectify - this will obviously give a reference to Wurm Online and may explain lyrics like 'it moved the place where spiders play' and 'All those little crocs snapping at my heals.'"

Apparently the rest of the album is made up of some of his more eclectic songs including the protest song 'Crying' and 'Water in the Rain' which when listened to by a friend of Joss produced the comment, "we like tortured love songs!"

According to Joss himself his own two favourites are 'Did You Dance With the Moon' which is about being a rebel when young, and 'Charming' which is about being happy even when things are bad and has a sort of sad ending. 'You Are Not Alone' is about the death of a pet rat!

The Album will also be available on iTunes in the near future and Joss will be releasing a Wurm specific album next year when he has written some more songs.

Spotify is Currently available in Sweden, Norway, Finland, the UK, France and Spain, and is an application that allows you to listen to streamed content for free.

GamezineThose of you on Golden Valley may have noticed a character called Have Hope wandering around trying to dig holes and cut down trees. He was a reviewer from Gamezine and was busy trying to find out all about us with the minimum of input from us. Well, I lost track of him for a few days, but he eventually appeared, looking a little tatty, and asking could he see how the vets did it (he meant the experienced players, not the people who look after our bears!) Well, I whisked him round the new Independence server, showed him the canal at Crystal Lakes, the canal tunnel, my beach house (where he decided to go and talk to a bemused troll) and eventually dumped him with those nice people at Free Bears so they could show him how to build a house.

The result of his little trip can be seen here. And a fair review it is too, I think. He appears to have missed the dragon on our front page, going by his comment about monsters, and he called the canal a valley, but apart from that he seemed to enjoy himself, and that really is all we ask for - good times, good company, and enough challenges to make you feel like you have really achieved something - THAT is Wurm Online!
