Fireworks from Niobe's houseMidnight, Swedish time, and Wurm was ablaze with fireworks as those Wurmians who were up and still standing danced in the villages, forests and towns.

2008 has seen much change in Wurm, not least of which has been the introduction of Boats to lake and sea, and 2009 is just stuffed with plans, at least some of which we hope to get up and running. Wurm is ever evolving, and year on year Wurmians see changes in their lives which just keeps them (and the developers) on their toes. This is the beauty of Wurm Online. It is not set in stone, it can never be "finished," there is simply far too many ideas out there that are just bouncing up and down trying to get into the game!

So, raise a pottery mug to the New Year, and lets see what we can squeeze in to the schedule!

Happy New Year, Wurmians!

  • Some people discovered that the rock layer had become more soft and started to mold it, but they also noticed that it had some weird spongy characteristics causing it to pop extrusions now and then. This behaviour has now gone away and the extrusions have disappeared. Scientists are "befuddled".
  • Creatures are now more picky when you try to tame them, accepting only food when they are hungry that they deem worthy of eating.

A Merry Wurmian Christmas PDF Print E-mail

When Christmas comes round, we like to spread a little bit of Christmas good will to all out players, who ever they are, however long they have played and where ever they come from! Wurm is just that kind of place. Of course, Santa will no doubt be visiting in the lands of Wurm, and if he visits, I am reasonably sure he may have something for the players, and that it is going to be wonderful. But just to get you all in the Christmas spirit here is a little tune penned by our own Bard of Wurm, specially for you lot!

So, what will happen after Christmas? Well, once Rolf is back and we have all shaken our selves free of the Christmas Spirit, one of our first orders of business will be to get stage one of the new sound released. We were hoping to get it out before Christmas, but, as Rolf mentioned in his blog, the one or two remaining problems were proving very elusive to track down. You know how it is; you know which tree the bear is behind, but every time you run round, it scampers round to the opposite side and nips you on the bum!

The small delay will, however, allow the Bard to sort through some of the music and maybe we can get a few little bits and pieces in there at the same time. We shall see - no promises!

In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas - and if you are visiting for the first time, sign up and come and join the fun!

Merry Christmas from Rolf and the whole Wurmian Team!

  • As an early christmas gift to everyone, you may now mine on the rock surface layer again (it was possible a few years ago). You now need to tunnel if you want to create a tunnel - the standard mine action will only lower the nearest corner like dig does. For now you will not be able to mine near cliffs.
