Dannyiron continues his walk through the Kingdom of Jenn Kellon with an impression of Newtown,
possibly one of the more controversial locations on Wurm.

Newtown. The starter town where there is no bark, and no bite! It is such a wondrous place - not just for the new players who start off here and begin to learn their craft, but also for experienced and veteran players alike. It means many things to different people; a home to some, the heart of trading for others, a home away from home for far flung Wurmians, each having their own feelings as is common with many large towns. It is a fantastic place to meet new people, discuss, find your way, or just hang around!!

danny-nt-tradeunicorn-tb.jpgThere is much to do in Newtown; sights to see, transactions to take place and events to happen, as well as a place to earn a few bucks. As they say, “another day, another … Silver?”

Many Wurmians are found in the esteemed Merchant Row, where you can rent a merchant block to sell your wares and earn some money - all at a reasonable rental fee! And you need not be a citizen.

Many new people pass by day after day making Newtown a fantastic place to form new bonds with people. Even from a personal point of view I have formed bonds with veterans popping on in for a visit, with new players who have later blossomed into fine Wurmians, and still hold those bonds close to my heart. If you're a socialist, then surely this is a hotspot for you! If you are a Capitalist, then it is without equal!

danny-nt-lava-tb.jpgAs for tourist attractions, there are many things to see. For one, there are local creatures dotted around; all safe in their pens, you can see them and not be hurt by them, truly something you may only see once in a blue moon? There is also the Newtown colossus - a giant statue that stands ever-tall, overlooking the Newtown Lake. Erected by the owners of Newtown with help from the citizens, this is truly an admirable sight to see whenever you decide to stop by!

In the heart of Newtown itself, just by the token where new players first appear, there are many helpful things for veterans and new players alike. The Kingdom traders Tahkara and Manet are nestled snugly in the area. Every now and again they will have some spare funds, and the quick Wurmian will sell some small objects to them for needed silver coin. Up the hill from the token, you will find the guide. She will escort players through the game with simple instruction on how to perform certain actions and how to survive; tree cutting, foraging for food, mining, the very basics of day to day life that makes Wurm tick.

danny-nt-bart-tb.jpgThere is also the bartender in the Blue building North-West of the token, in the Newtown Bistro. He will refresh you for your first 24 hours of game time by supplying you with food and water, your concerns for keeping up energy are that little easier with the bartender around! By the guide, there is a farm with more beautiful creatures to see and admire; as well as 'Wempy's', the restaurant! Open always, you can always pop in and take a seat!

These are just the main features of Newtown; you would be here forever if I wrote about all of them! But a stroll round will reveal much more.

But why Newtown? Newtown is special. Special to many in their own ways. You could live very near to it or only pop in very, very occasionally; it is definitely a place you should visit every now and again for it's key features, uniqueness, and originality. This is the foundation of the whole server and a key piece of the puzzle that is Jenn Kellon. Without it, you would definitely recognise that the puzzle wasn't complete! No matter what it means to you; no matter what other people may tell you, Newtown is special and unique in its own way, and is perhaps the most important place on the whole server for tourists, new players, and veterans alike.
