As soon as the new lands of Mol Rehan were discovered, it was clear that this overwhelming landscape would offer challenges and opportunities that would attract a very special kind of Wurmian. Here, Lara, a player who created a brand new character for this brand new world, gives her story.

What was this new found place Mol Rehan? What great adventures would lie there? I knew a little about the wonderful worlds of Wurm from having spent time in Jenn-Kellon and very brief jaunts into Wild, but the draw to this unexplored region was too much and a new character for a new place was born.

Popping up out of the mist I found myself in a wide grassy plain I later discovered was called Alchemist Bay, surrounded by nothing but a barman, ghostly spirits and rather sly looking guides. I did some simple chores for a guide and earned some treasured tools. Now what? Where to begin? No buildings, no established mines nor public resources nearby; I was truly on my own and completely ecstatic!

The first few days prospecting, mining and smelting in campfires making everything from scratch was the most fun I've ever had in Wurm. Here I was with a totally new body, slightly at an advantage with a little knowledge and I was surviving.

lara-croc-tb.jpgOnce I'd taken the long trip to find the clay spot to the south, carefully negotiating crocodile slope on the way down, and then the long swim back carrying as much clay as possible, back up croc slope several times as my still young legs couldn't carry that much at once, I was flying. Up went the forge and the oven and I kitted myself out with a variety of tools.

Shed and small farm followed swiftly, and it was time for a new kind of adventure. Safely storing all my treasured gear I went a wandering deeper inland; I was awed at the sites I saw. Climbing out of the forest for a better view I discovered a beautiful narrow valley and chanced across my first meeting with a mountain gorilla, thankfully he liked my Mol Rehan features and let me go on my way.

Making it back home to the Bay safely, I realised it was time to head out and find a new place to lay my head; the Bay with it's ample unicorns and spirits making it a mystical place and as such it should remain, uncluttered for the next adventurer who takes a chance of a new beginning on Mol Rehan.

lara-valley-tb.jpgSo I set off around the coast; my first journey ending half way around the world and half way up a mountain which blindly I failed to see was the home to one angry mountain lion that took exception to my presence and in my weakened state sent me packing. Undeterred I set off around the coast in the other direction meeting some lovely people on the way; some just shouting a hello others insisting I shared a meal with them.

I saw some truly beautiful new settlements on my journeys and was directed through the newly built tunnel from Xavan's Sanctum to Darkenstone. Note: travelling through long tunnels with no lamp results in confusion, but after a false start I made it through the tunnel and had a look around Darkenstone, both villages were lovely but I needed a place of my own so bidding the residents fair well and thanking them for the tunnel I headed out into the main bay and north around it and there I found home.

A lovely serene spot overlooked by several mountains, surrounded by deer infested forests, I planted my roots swallowed my tongue and headed back to the bay to gather my belongings and make the long trip once more to the place I now call home.
