For very obvious reasons, we are getting a lot of questions regarding the new entry server and what it means to players on other servers.

So, we proudly present a short FAQ which we hope will answer questions for brand new players and existing players alike. Some things on here might change as we slowly get the way the new server works refined, and we see how it is used and by how many. But this is a good starter for ten!

Golden Valley FAQ

(see the end for some additional info for existing free players, and for information on the Horde on Golden Valley)

Q. Who gets to use the new server?

A. This server is designed for new players registering to play the Wurm Online game. When they login for the first time they will come to this server automatically.

Q. Can existing players travel to this server.

A. No, only new registrations go to this server. Players on other servers who want to help new players, recruit village members, or similar can make a new account for the entry server, but your current character has no way of transferring

Q. Where is Golden Valley?

A. Golden Valley has no real geographical relationship to any of the main lands of Wurm. It could be said to be a dream from the past ….

Q. Can premium players play on this server?

A. It is only open to new players – whether they have bought premium or not will not affect their level of play. All will be treated as Free players until they move to one of the main servers.

Q. Is this a fully functioning server.

A. This is a full game server, albeit with a smaller land, but players on this server are capped at skill 20. There are no religion aspects. There is no PVP.

Q. Is there a time limit on this server?

A. Currently there is no time limit for players on this server. We believe that you should be able to play for free for as long as you wish.

Q. If I don’t play for several weeks, will my account be deleted?

A. Your account may be deleted after a month of inactivity under certain circumstances. The deletion algorithm tries to evaluate whether you may still be active or not.

Q. Once I decide to use a portal to a main server, will I be able to return?

A. No, this is a one way trip for your character!

Q. If I make a mistake and take the wrong portal, what do I do?

A. You will have to Travel between servers by boat or swimming and convert if you are in the wrong kingdom. So please make sure you get it right!

Q.Do I have to buy premium to move to the main servers?

A. Yes all the main servers are now Premium only (See below about free players that were registered before 14th January 2008)

Q Is PvP allowed on the server.

A. PvP has been disabled on the server.

Q. Can I build Towers on Golden Valley?

A. We have now disabled the ability to build towers.

Q. Is the new server moderated

A. The new server is fully moderated as if it were a Home server. Please see the game rules.

Q. What is the skill cap for players?

A. All players on this server are capped at 20 - this means you cannot raise your skills or strength above that limit

Q. How does the skill cap effect play?

A. You will not be able to build stone houses, destroy pavements, build wooden houses above 4 X 2 size, etc. Please see the Wurmpedia about basic account restrictions

Q. How do I teleport to a kingdom?

A. Right click on the portal for where you want to go and select Use. You will then be asked to confirm your choice to this kingdom. You must have premium time active to leave the entry server.

Q. Can I use any portal?

A. As of writing, the only portals are located inside the starting towns. This means you will need to convert to that kingdom to use the portal. However we will be placing more portals outside the cities which you will be able to use regardless of your current kingdom selection. Using such a portal may result in a free kingdom change.

Q. How many Portals are there?

A. There are four portals. Jenn Kellon Home, Jenn Kellon Wild, Mol Rehan Home and Mol Rehan Wild. Further portals will serve these same destinations.

Q. Is there a portal for the Horde?

A. Currently there is no portal to join the Horde. If you wish to join them, go to either MR Wild or Jenn Kellon WIld and go in search of them!

Q. I got a "You Leave Jenn Kellon" or "You Leave Mol Rehan" message. What does that mean?

A. The new server is divided into kingdoms. These do not have the same meaning here as on the main servers, but you will be told when you cross the border.

Players who were on Jenn Kellon before 14th January 2009

Q. I am a Free to Play Wurmian on Jenn Kellon home. Can I still play?

A. Yes, we have no immediate plans to stop you playing! But we do suggest you try and upgrade to get the full benefits of the game.

Q. I have a Basic Alt on Jenn Kellon home. Can I carry on using it.

A. Yes, you can carry on using it for now.

Q. Will you eventually stop all Free to Play characters on JK Home?

A. We may do, however at the moment we are happy to leave things as they are.

Q. I am a Premium player on JK Home - what happens if my premium runs out?

A. Since the JK Home server allows non-premium characters you will still be able to log on for the time being. However, on Wild and Mol Rehan you will need to renew your premium first as normal. Sorry this is a bit unbalanced - but it is the only way we can make the transition smooth.

The Horde in Golden Valley

Q. Who will be Blacklighters in Golden Valley

A. Blacklighters will be made up of Player Assistants from the Horde on the Wild Server.

Q. Can a player convert to the Blacklight on Golden Valley?

A. No. Joining the Horde is a serious issue and can only be achieved on the Wild server by seeking them out there.

Q. Why has the Horde compound so many features only available to Premium players on the premium servers?

A. The Horde compound, called Libila's Gate, is doubling up as a showcase so new players can see some of the things they can build with higher skill. Obviously it does not demonstrate things like some of the vast terraforming projects that have been undertaken by players on the premium servers.

Q. Can players use the Horde Portal?

A. No, to travel to the Blacklighters' lands on Wild, you must first travel to either Mol Rehan or Jenn Kellon on wild.

Q. Will Blacklighters use the Portal to travel to Golden Valley?

A. Portals are one way only - leaving Golden Valley.

Q. Are the Blacklight Tower Guards dangerous?

A. Oh yes! We have tried to contain them, but they may escape from time to time. Be wary and do not enter the compound under any circumstances!

Q. Can we ask the Blacklight Player Assistants about the Horde?

A. Ask away! They are there not just as representatives of the Horde, but also to help you - whether that is on general questions about the game, or about the Horde of the Summoned in particular.

Q. Will there be further Blacklight settlements on Golden Valley?

A. No, this will be their only compound on GV.
