Q. Is the new Freedom server a completely new server?

A. Yes, this has been built on a brand new computer to top specifications

Q. What is the name of the land?

A. The Land is called "Independence" and is the first server in the new Freedom version of Wurm.

Q. Is this a completely different game?

A. This is still Wurm Online, but is being developed for players who have no interest in kingdom wars or PvP. It runs the same version of the Wurm code but with different settings.

Q. Are there kingdoms on Freedom servers?

A. Yes, everyone belongs to the same kingdom. It is a new kingdom called the Freedom Isles. Though the fact that it is a kingdom does not have the same importance as kingdoms do on the Wild server.

Q. Is PvP completely removed from the Freedom game?

A. Yes, you cannot attack just at will any player on Freedom servers. However, it will probably be possible to duel still which requires both players to accept the challenge.

Q. Will there still be PvE on Freedom servers?

A. Yes, Wurm would not be Wurm if a bear could not have you for lunch! Expect continuing problems from the Fauna (and maybe even the Flora!)

Q. Will there be towers on Independence?

A. Yes. The code recently changed so that tower guards only attack creatures if you fight them or have them targeted and say "help" or "guards" in local.

Q. Are there game mechanics to prevent griefing and harassment?

A. We can never completely remove these things, and it is particularly difficult in a game where you can terraform! However, we are trying to reduce the possibility as much as we can and will continue to address these issues. Game moderators will take care of the rest, where practical.

Q. Will you be able to lose reputation and become and outlaw on Freedom servers? And what happens if you go below -200?

A. The idea is that it should not be possible to perform such actions. If you still manage somehow the game or the GMs will send you off to the pvp lands. At that point you may also lose skills or the ability to return to Freedom. Some details are still to finalised on this one!

Q. Where are the Freedom Lands on Wurm?

A. They are in the Southern Hemisphere of Wurm, beyond the Circle Sea. (Well you did ask!)

Q. Will there be free accounts on Independence?

A. No, Free accounts will only be playable on Golden Valley

Q. Can we travel by ship from the kingdom servers to Independence?

A. Yes, but only during the migration phase, and this is a one way trip.

Q. How much can I take in my boat?

A. You will be able to bring max 100 items in the ship. There is a right-click command to check this if you are riding the boat. If you try to take more items, anything above 100 will be removed randomly.

Q. How else can we travel to Independence from the Kingdom servers?

A. You can use the portals that are set up at the starter towns (from launch day) and in as many other locations as possible.

Q. How much can I take across from the kingdom servers in my inventory?

A. 200 items total in your inventory and on your body. If you go by boat anything above that in your inventory will be randomly removed. If you are using a portal, you will be prevented from teleporting till you reduce the number to below 200. The "count items" command on the boat will give you information about this as well in an upcoming update.

Q. How long will the migration period be?

A. For as long as the old Home servers of Jenn Kellon and Mol Rehan still stand. Once they are destroyed there will be no further migration, including from the Wild server. We expect this process to take about 4 weeks.

Q. How long will the home servers stay online?

A. Probably about four weeks, though this may change depending on how the migration goes.

Q. I have a basic account on Jenn Kellon Home, will I be able to go to Independence?

A. You will have to upgrade to Premium to move your character on the premium servers.

Q. My character used to be premium on JKH, but premium time has run out. Can I move servers?

A. You cannot go to Freedom without buying premium first. If you do nothing, your character will be moved to wild, but you will need to buy premium to log in.

Q. Can I have my basic account moved to Golden Valley

A. Unfortunately not, for various reasons. There may be exploitable situations involved that we want to avoid.

Q. What will happen to my basic character if I do nothing?

A. We will not move basic accounts that have never been premium, so they will be deleted.

Q. What will happen to my premium character on the Home servers if I do not move by the time they close?

A. We intend to move the remaining accounts that have or once had premium to the wild server once the migration period is over.

Q. Can I continue to travel between Wild and the Home Servers during the migration period.

A. Yes, you may travel back and forth as much as you like.

Q. How do I go from Golden Valley to Independence?

A. You can use the Portal that has been set up on the Steppe (Ah, that is what Bard of Wurm has been doing on the steppe!!!)

Q. Will there be changes to Golden Valley.

A. Yes, we have planned some very important and exciting changes - these will be happening over the next few weeks and we will tell you more then.

Q. Where have the portals on Golden Valley gone?

A. The portals to the Wild server will be moved to the Steppe with the Freedom Portal. The portals to the home servers have now been broken by the gods!

Q. Will there be a portal from Golden Valley to the Horde?

A. Not decided as yet.

Q. Will there be rule changes?

A. Yes. Although many rules will be common throughout Wurm, there will be rules that are specific to either the Epic or Freedom servers. So we will write two sets of rules to reflect the differences. Some rules, especially for Freedom, may need adjusting over time as things settle in and we see the effects of the new functionality. If you are unsure during this period, ask a GM. A rule of thumb for Freedom in the meantime, if you are messing up someone else's game, it will probably be against the rules.

Q. Does the new Freedom Isles have religion?

A. Yes old players will bring their religions there, with the exception of Libila who is not allowed there. Libila followers will loose their faith and favor.

Q. How does one become a priest?

A. Right now there is no way but there will be.

Q. Is there a White Light or equivalent?

A. Not yet. You have to ask an existing priest to convert you for now if you want to join the religion.

Q. What is the Epic server?

A. The Epic servers are servers where the random scenarios that form the story will be run. A scenario will have permanent impact on the world and the success is dependent on the players.

Q. Can anyone go to the epic server?

A. Yes as long as you are a premium player. Portals to the Epic server will be on all lands in Wurm including Golden Valley once an Epic server is released.

Q. Can I take my skills to Epic?

A. The final details of this have yet to be decided as it will very much depend on the details of the scenario. There may be a cap on skills when you start on Epic, or a completely seperate inventory and skill set that you will leave behind on Epic if you return to your previous server.

Q. Will there be travel between the wild server and the Freedom servers?

A, Quite what travel will be allowed and how it will be implimented is still to be determined. Travelling will be limited in certain ways. This may include time limits, some of your skills may be reduced and maybe limitations on inventory. You may even have different skill and inventory sets on the different server types. Travelling back to wild from the Freedom Isles will not be possible till after the Home servers have been closed, at which point we will announce more details.

Q. Will Freedom have uniques?

A. Indeed, Freedom will have its own set of uniques.

Q. Will there be more uniques on the Wild server?

A. A final decision has yet to be made on this but we are leaning towards that.
